Sowing Seeds of Kindness
Sisters Rebecca and Victoria Clark, Haley Meadows
Hosted by LaNita Clark
The "Sowing Seeds of Kindness" Tea Society had its first meeting Wednesday, March 28th at the home of LaNita Clark in Highlands, NC.
This is a mother and daughter tea society. It's especially for the daughters and sometimes they may meet by themselves with Miss LaNita, but also for the mothers to have a time of fellowship.
Four young ladies, ages 5 to 7, attended - Rebecca and Victoria Clark with their mother, Cathy, Haley Meadows and her mother, Debbie, and Karaline Shomaker and her mother, Cynthia. Karaline's little brother, Harrison also came.
The decorations were blue and yellow - bright and cheery for spring. The food was simple - things the little girls could do: Scalloped Egg Salad Sandwiches, tiny Blueberry Streusel Muffins and Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins, slices of store bought pound cake cut with a heart cookie cutter, with dollops of vanilla pudding and whipped cream on top and strawberries.
Each of the girls was given the name of a widow that they would have opportunities to minister to by making cards for them, calling, visiting, having them over, etc.
I got a blue or yellow mug and a box of pansies for each girl and told them to put a pansy plant in the mug to take to their older friend. The other pansies were for them to plant and take care of.
They will have a scripture to memorize each month. The one for this month was Ephesians 4:32.
The second meeting will be with just the little girls. We be working on a project ot give the mothers and older ladies at the May meeting. The older ladies will also be invited to the May meeting, which will be around Mother's Day at Haley and Debbie Meadows home.
This meeting took place several weeks ago and the girls have had many contacts with their older ladies. It has been a blessing to each one.
